2Tim2:15-Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman than needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Studying is one of the major ways we access knowledge, in this case, the knowledge of God’s word. God’s desire is to see us increase in the knowledge of Him and His word.
Jos1:8-this book of the Lord shall not depart out of our mouth
The only way His word will not depart out of our mouth is by putting His word in our heart

Benefit of studying God’s word
1-We know more about God by studying His word.
2- Psalm119:9, 11. It helps us to live a holy life.
3-2Pt2:2-4. It helps us to grow in faith.
4- Dan9:1-2. We know what belong to us in God

To be able to meditate successfully in God’s word entails that we take time to put the word in our heart regularly.
How do we study God’s word?
- By name. This is done by picking a bible name i.e. Samuel, David, Joseph and take time to study about their walk with God, there success, failure, or their faith.
- By event. This is another way to study our bible by taking time to study the events and how it happens, this helps us to see the mighty hand of God in the lives of His people [i.e. the crossing of the red sea, the birth of Jesus, building the ark].
- By books. As we know that the bible consists of sixty-six books, and is divided into the New and the Old Testament, we can choose reading it by picking each of these books and then reading them through [i.e. the book Mark, Luke, Job, Jonah].
- By topics. This is another wonderful way of accessing the wonders in God holy book [i.e. redemption, prayer, faith, speaking in tongue].
We need to depend on the Spirit of God to understand the bible anytime we read, to be able to understand the spiritual dimension of the bible.
